A very hardy plant that will grow in almost any situation, In Tasmania it is known as the Christmas bush. It is subject to scale attack in some areas. Bursaria Laisophylla is very similar.

This is an Evergreen shrub.

Height is 3m and often taller.

Spread 2m or more.

Stem Erect thorny shrub.

Leaves Dark green ovate and shiny 2-5cm long

Flowers are white and massed over the bush in spring and summer.

Propagation is by cutting or seed.

Aboriginal uses: Seed capsules contain black seeds, which were ground into flour (late autumn).
